bmurator Melodic Death / Doom from Australia. This is extremely impressive & they really outdid themselves here! The atmosphere is dark & foreboding, the music is impeccable & the vocals are out of this world! Need more? Just get it already! No favourites! Highly recommended!!!

bcb723 This is the definition of raising the bar. Myridian's last album was good but this is something else. Towering complex songs, beautiful melodies and solos, amazing growls with even better clean vocals. The first two tracks alone are 24 minutes long without a wasted second. Listen to "Nidellavir" which may be one of my favorite songs of 2020 so far. Jesus... the depth of these songs is incredible. No idea where they go next but it will be interesting to see if Myridian can top this in the future. Favorite track: Nidellavir.

H.L. Autumn is coming and I realize that I play this album more than before. MYRIDIAN present atmospheric but heavy doom death metal, epic and melodic with a lot of variations in songwriting and vocals. Growls are dominating, but switching to soulful clean/ choir vocals or occasional screams keeps the long tracks interesting. "Light in the Abyss" can be the soundtrack for dark-romantic moments in life. Favorite track: Light is Lost.

Forced to walk amongst lost souls Seathing emptiness that precedes Light is gone, light is lost Fall away with the dark Broken homes and broken hearts Scent of earth and taste of blood We are not the chosen ones Only specs of dust lost unto the wind The only shelter from the cold Fold the blanket once again The fire is going out soon Dark will let the cold in The food and drink is almost gone The torch's light is growing weak My love, I can't feel my feet My hands are gone, they just feel gone! Weak Cold Scared Go Take the last Go Save yourself A limbless body A wreckage of flesh Leave me here to die... Leave me here to die!

Nidellavir 12:57
A sea where no ship may sail An ocean of water as air Waves of cloud churn as the winds Turbulent and beautiful, utterly untouchable Nidavellir The sea of mist Nothing lies below White sails blow in the wind They catch the air The ship lurches forward And cuts the cloud I sail on An impossible sea Our journey begun To the ends of the earth And like the sea this place has it's storms Wind and rain batter her hull Timber creaks and the sails tear The mast ablaze with St. Elmo's fire I sail on The impossible sea Our journey, so long Was it not meant to be? We are battered and worn Yet the clouds keep us afloat No destination, no course to chart The golden sun is a mighty guide It's rays make the damage difficult to hide In shadows lurk the nightmares of man In them we see where horrors began Nidavellir The sea of mist Nothing lies below And into the depths we go

Babylon 07:50
Inanna, walk with me Through this valley of sleep May the moon, which hangs overhead Light my every step Ereshkigal, great Queen of the Earth Who looks over the dead May your gates be open to me That I may find some rest "There is a curse, which perches upon my shoulders. I can hear it's beak clacking as it picks at my ears. It's talons tear into my flesh, but my blood is cold and as it soaks through my clothes, It watches as I drink deep from this river, and laughs as the water turns to piss in my mouth. Food turns to ash as I chew it and pleasure tears at me from the inside. The touch of another scorches against my skin. Knowledge burns a hole into my mind and grants me visions of things to come. And music grates against my ears, as a high pitched wail of doom." Only the ending is assured And death's sweet embrace Inanna, walk with me Through this valley of sleep May the moon, which hangs overhead Light my every step Ereshkigal, great Queen of the Earth Who looks over the dead May your gates be open to me That I may find some rest Corrupt and withdrawn I break away from this Slowly adorned There's no return from this An eye for an eye Tooth for tooth Scattered Lost in truth Drawn to the dark There is a hole in my heart And only the ending is assured With death's sweet embrace Inanna, step with me In this valley of sleep May the moon, ever overhead Light my every step Ereshkigal, great Queen of Death Who seeks to claim my head Are your gates open to me So I can find some rest

The Poet 09:18
Words that come freely Are words not of mine Of books and tomes Of ink and parchment The wasted scrawling of countless years Dusty old shelves, a lantern gone dark Many meals left cold and uneaten I'm wasting away, I cannot create Maybe I left this world long, long ago Will someone not help me? Come, be my muse, my love, my inspiration Hold me close, be my reason to write And help draw this veil back This gnawing feeling, a voice, a presence Always in the back of my mind Taunting and teasing, nagging and egging Ice cold hands which grasp at my spine Cursed am I, cursed I am I shall not fade, NEVER I FADE Burn with me now, my loving fire Forget my name, NEVER FORGET MY NAME Spit in my face, pour salt in my wounds I laugh from under this thick film of bile Watching as I throw myself away Ever further from his ever-loving light Make me one of your kind The empty shell of a broken man Brake your souls upon my rocks You worthless whores, you spiteful cunts I cannot breathe, this air is too thick I cannot hear, the Angels' Song is deafening Fuck them all and fuck their master I'll consign them all to the oblivion that they so desire And if my words should fail and fall from blank pages Then let it be known that I shall not relent Crush the words Bring fire to the archives Ponder thy life as thy legacy burns And thy flesh is engulfed Thou art pitiful Thou art of little worth There can be no peace for thee As thy flesh and bone become ash

Down, further down O' roots, engulf me Like pathways of the mind Our minds entwined My hands are stained with blood These hands that have killed These hands that have loved I must kill the the sun above And I see the arrows That pierce flesh I see knives That cut and rend My hands are stained with blood These hands that have killed These hands that have loved I shall kill, when the raven comes Rats find a way I learn much from them Spreading plague I too shall spread my disease Come young one, sweet child be my instrument of pain give my gift to the world and let disease reign The Raven spoke to me She left me a feather Plague ridden filth She pleads me to spread My hands are stained with fever My mind is plagued by hate My wrath is uncontrollable My rage is unconfined Come young one, sweet child be my instrument of pain give my gift to the world and let disease reign Culling the weak Bleeding the strong The roots and the rats The Raven brings down your sun

Black Wind 08:44
So long ago the light failed, leaving me alone One by one, helpless wanderers would enter My victims, to join me, Machin’shin they called me Forsaken guardian of the path Born of tainted creation Unnoticeable at first Uncontrollable will to destroy Boundless Feel the madness sink in As the pummeling wind approaches Feel the torrent of voices Tearing your soul away So fine the flesh Flesh to tear Urged on by your screams so sweet Gnash the skin So nice to strip So red the drops that fall I search here, in this endless shadow Seeking the next soul to join Bringing this place deeper to darkness The Ways - my prison, my torment, my home A pillar of light, a sign of life Thousands of screaming souls in abrasive union Another body to consume Will this tormented symphony ever fall silent? Feel the madness sink in As the pummeling wind approaches Feel the torrent of voices Tearing your soul away So fine the flesh Flesh to tear Urged on by your screams so sweet Gnash the skin So nice to strip So red the drops that fall

Searching and searching, these shadows are looming These streets are forgotten and lost to the light A man made chaos just as he wished And forged a path through the night Closer and closer, the stars getting closer As if the heavens seek to smother us I've made my peace with my God And pledged an oath to the dark I feel cold Lost in myself As I grow old My faith burns out Yearning and yearning, my soul is still burning I seek the answers that none can provide Wishing for comfort no longer brings respite I am the dregs at the end of my life Weaker and weaker, my devotion grows weaker The love that I held has now shriveled and died I cast off my clothes and sink into Styx I need no air here, this is peace At last, I am one with the abyss My life is now gone At last, I am one with the abyss In this void I am reborn You lied There is no peace here Beware I must return False idol, thou art Deceiver of men Spiritual enemy Disgusting God Spiritual enemy Disgusting God Watch me, my enemy Oh magnificent face of God Watch as I turn the other cheek And strike down thy flock Who brings the light? I cast the longest shadow
