bcb723 This is the definition of raising the bar. Myridian's last album was good but this is something else. Towering complex songs, beautiful melodies and solos, amazing growls with even better clean vocals. The first two tracks alone are 24 minutes long without a wasted second. Listen to "Nidellavir" which may be one of my favorite songs of 2020 so far. Jesus... the depth of these songs is incredible. No idea where they go next but it will be interesting to see if Myridian can top this in the future. Favorite track: Nidellavir.

H.L. Autumn is coming and I realize that I play this album more than before. MYRIDIAN present atmospheric but heavy doom death metal, epic and melodic with a lot of variations in songwriting and vocals. Growls are dominating, but switching to soulful clean/ choir vocals or occasional screams keeps the long tracks interesting. "Light in the Abyss" can be the soundtrack for dark-romantic moments in life. Favorite track: Light is Lost.

Arrogant Bastard God damn this is SO good!
I need some time to dwell on this record; review to come. Favorite track: The Poet.

stuart wilson An astonishingly good album, leaps and bounds over their previous. Epic, melodic and dark, with excellent production. The variation in vocals is great, and the album actually earns its 68-minute running time. For lovers of Oldpeth, Insomnium and Disillusion... Favorite track: Light is Lost.
Album gave me chills beginning to end!! How I have never heard the band before pains me, but damn this album is very close to the best of 2020, it'll kick you in the teeth with no apologies!

Greg Kouris This is why I love this genre of music! The Melodic Guitar Riffs mixed with that heavier slower tempo of Doom, surpassed by the growling Death Metal vocals. One of my favorite albums of 2020. You'll want to pick this one up! Favorite track: The Poet.

Myridian Melbourne, Australia

Myridian are a melodic death/doom metal band based in Melbourne, Australia. Combining the melodies of epic Scandinavian metal with haunting doom passages, the band recently released their sophomore album 'We, the Forlorn' in April 2015. Carrying the dark energy of its predecessor to new heights, 'Forlorn' further refines the band's signature mixture of atmosphere, sorrow and introspection. ... more
